Note: UCI School of Medicine and UCI Law School manage their own ceremonies which will be held in May. 

Participation in Commencement is not mandatory. To participate in Commencement, Graduates must be considered eligible, register to participate in the Commencement Registration system when it opens in April, and wear appropriate UC Irvine regalia.

Students who earn a degree during Summer ’24, Fall ’24, Winter ’25, Spring ’25 or who expect to complete their degree requirements during Summer ’25 may be eligible to participate in a Commencement ceremony. All undergraduates must submit a grad application to be eligible for Commencement. Graduates can register for their ceremony in April once their grad application has been marked as “received”. Graduate students who earned a masters or doctoral degree during Fall ’24, Winter ’25, Spring ’25 or who expect to complete their degree requirements during Summer ’25 or Fall 25’ – are eligible to participate in a Commencement ceremony.
